Investec showed up for Sindawonye Primary School.

On Tuesday 28 July 2026, the Fudumala Ubuntu Challenge, backed by Investec together with a group of private sponsors, arrived at Sindawonye Primary School in Mamelodi and handed over 100 individually labelled school jerseys to learners who had been waiting.

A second handover is coming up at Thuthuka Primary School in Tembisa on Thursday 30 July 2026, where a further 72 school jerseys are planned. That story will be shared separately once it has taken place.

Fudumala asks sponsors to fund one school jersey for one learner who needs it

The Fudumala Ubuntu Challenge is a campaign with a simple, honest ask: sponsor a school jersey for a child who needs one. The name comes from the Sepedi word for to warm up, and that is exactly what this campaign has always been about. Not just warmth from a jersey, but the warmth of a community that refuses to leave its children behind.

Since launching the 2026 campaign, Fudumala has partnered with corporates, individuals, and community organisations to get school uniforms onto learners who would otherwise go without. The campaign runs on the principle that no child should walk into a classroom feeling less than, not because of a uniform.

Investec and private sponsors funded 100 school jerseys for Sindawonye Primary School

Sindawonye Primary School in Mamelodi was the first stop. One hundred school jerseys, funded through Investec and private sponsors, were distributed to learners at the school.

One hundred learners walked away from Sindawonye Primary School that Tuesday with more than just a jersey. They walked away knowing someone thought they were worth it.

Thuthuka Primary School is next, on 30 July 2026

Fudumala is not stopping at Sindawonye. On Thursday 30 July 2026, the team returns to Thuthuka Primary School in Tembisa to hand over a further 72 school jerseys, funded by private sponsors. That handover has not happened yet, and its own story, with its own photos, will be published separately once it has.

Investec and private sponsors made the Sindawonye Primary School handover possible

The Sindawonye Primary School handover was made possible by Investec and a network of private sponsors. Every partner brought something different to the table. Every contribution went directly to a named learner at a school in need.

Threads for iKasi Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Investec and everyone who made this handover possible.
